Constructing the Information

Our in-house clinical team is comprised of advanced-degreed pharmacists with significant clinical and academic experience. This team, with technical and editorial support, performs daily surveillance of FDA and pharmaceutical manufacturer announcements and publications to research findings on new drug availability, new dosage forms, as well as revisions to contraindications, warnings, and other labeling changes. The internal clinical team also monitors and coordinates information from the medical science arena; this includes routinely surveying published literature within key therapeutic areas, and coordinating input related to clinical guidelines, consensus statements, and clinical practice.

Review Process

To ensure quality, the team works with external clinical reviewers and editors who lend their unique insight and perspective to the monograph structure and detail. Decisions involving incorporation of content are based on levels of evidence and peer-review consensus. As a result, multidisciplinary groups of clinical pharmacists, physicians, and nurses are involved in decisions to add, delete, or modify information.

Through the years, we have built relationships with hundreds of authors and consultant editors from the healthcare professions. These individuals complete an outside review of our content, providing additional layers of analysis and expertise. We also work with a large number of hospitals nationwide, producing custom formularies for these institutions. This enables us to obtain further feedback from professionals in all settings, allowing us to incorporate the most up-to-date and clinically-relevant drug information into our databases, and ultimately provide this knowledge to our clients.
